Bila hanya satu orang saja yang bertanya, barangkali saya bisa mengerti. Tapi saya hitung-hitung sudah ada tiga orang lebih yang bertanya, ‘ibunya kemana?’.
Pertama tetangga depan yang kebetulan melihat kami bertiga menumpang taksi.
Lalu dua orang sopir taksi ketika pergi dan pulang, juga bertanya, ’sedang kemana ibunya?’.
Di counter BNS (Bumi Nyiur Swalayan) seorang petugas counter dan seorang ibu yang juga sedang mengantri untuk membayar, turut bertanya, ‘ibunya kemana?’.
Apa memang seorang paman laki-laki, yang mencoba menghibur ponakannya yang telah lama di tinggal ibunya adalah sebuah pemandangan aneh?
